sick as a dog, running on three hours of sleep, tea, ricola, and a long shower, i'm off for the second day of recording 'Sogo Takeover,' an afrobeat ensemble.could be way worse: the engineer (john baffa) really knows his stuff, the set-up in the room is cool, the dudes in the band are super nice, and the music is groovy.there's an awful lot of distance between 1970's war-time Nigeria and 2011 southern California. but if the music is the message, like the bumper sticker says, it'll be just fine. much respect to tony allen.the front of my face feels like it's imploding.hopefully musiccicalall samples are forthcoming.
