contemporary big band concert

tomorrow, saturday the 13th of april, i'll be sharing the drum throne on a concert of contemporary big band music in the first of the summer concert series in the beautiful wild beast pavilion at calarts. there will be music the band leaders, lauren baba and andrew rowan, improvising greats vinny golia and wadada leo smith, marc lowenstein, friends and peers greg zilboorg, fank silva, greg uhlmann, and maybe even a piece by yours truly. it's free, in a lovely setting, very good sound, some music you've never heard before, and some you may never have heard the likes of before. concert starts at five, byob.
